Dagu Mountain Tourist Scenic Area
As a National 2A-level Tourist Attraction, Dagu Mountain is situated 17 kilometers southwest of the county seat. Centered on unique volcanic landforms, it is a comprehensive scenic area integrating sightseeing, scientific research, leisure, vacation and recreation.

Graceful Peak Forest
Ranking first among the Yitong Volcano Group, Dagu Mountain is the tallest volcano here. Its Manchu name is Altan Emele, which means Golden Saddle. The mountain has four peaks with distinctive shapes, visible even dozens of kilometers away. Dense trees cover the slopes, and the valleys are carpeted with lush green foliage, creating a delightful scenery.

Major scenic spots include the Pagoda-shaped Peak Forest, where jagged peaks cluster together. The spectacular landscape is comparable to the Li River in Guangxi and Lunan Stone Forest in Yunnan. Another famous sight is the Golden Turtle Gazing at the Sun. Viewed from the west, the southwest peak resembles a giant turtle lifting its head towards the sky.
The area also boasts Qingyun Temple, Deer Singing Garden, a northern ethnic village and a botanical garden.

The mountain is covered with luxuriant vegetation, including natural secondary forests and man-made woods. More than a dozen tree species grow here, such as pagoda trees, pines, birches, lindens, poplars and willows.
When spring arrives and ice and snow melt, the whole mountain is draped in fresh green. Bees and butterflies flit among fragrant wild flowers, refreshing every visitor’s mind. After autumn frosts, the mountain is dyed fiery red with varied foliage, intertwined with floating white clouds, presenting an absolutely stunning view.
