Huwan Hot Spring

Huwan Hot Spring is located at the entrance of Huwan Village at the foot of West Mountain in Qingping Township, Longchuan County, 41 kilometres away from Zhangfeng, the county seat.

Surrounded by rolling mountains covered with lush trees and swaying green bamboo, the area boasts vast stretches of green hills and clear waters. Its stunning natural scenery makes it a much-loved tourist destination.

Geologically, the area features sedimentary fault mixed granite. Crystal-clear spring water gushes out from beneath cobblestones, steaming hot. The water temperature reaches 60 degrees Celsius, hot enough to boil eggs right at the main spring source.

The spring flows gently into the Nanwan River and continues southward. The discharge stands at about 31.4 litres per second. The water is so clear that the riverbed is fully visible, and it constantly gives off a strong smell of sulphur.

Hot spring streams converge and mix with cool underground spring water flowing out from under large cobblestones, so visitors can freely adjust the water temperature while bathing.

Known as the resting place of peacocks, this hot spring has curative effects on illnesses and toxins. It is an ideal spot for bathing and recuperation, comparable to the hot springs in Tengchong.
