Shache Intangible Cultural Heritage Expo Park covers an area of 22.5 mu with a construction area of 18,806 square meters. Built in the form of a palace courtyard, the imposing and resplendent complex is a perfect masterpiece of multi-cultural architectural art.
Guided by modern culture, the park integrates contemporary construction techniques with folk architectural styles. Adopting various Xinjiang folk decorative arts, it fully showcases local traditions and customs of Shache. It brings together Kunlun culture, Buddhist culture, Mongolian culture, Silk Road culture, Central Plains culture, Western Regions culture, grassland culture, river civilization, jade culture, musical culture and folk customs, highlighting the integration and mutual complementarity of diverse cultures.
The building embodies Shache’s historical identity as an outpost carrying the lineage of Chinese civilization on the frontier, and reflects its profound history and splendid legacy as a key hub on the Silk Road where different cultures converged.
The park exhibits all 101 items of Shache’s intangible cultural heritage. Visitors can experience the folk customs of Shache’s multi-ethnic communities, appreciate ethnic song and dance as well as the artistic charm of the Twelve Muqams. It recreates the folk customs of southern Xinjiang and Muqam culture with immersive scenes, reviving Shache’s glorious past and envisioning its promising future.
