The tour resource of Nanning is abundant. There are 13 parks and over 30 street gardens in the city. The old Nanning city had 8 landscapes which included The People’s Park and Qingxiu Mountain Scenic Area. Liangfengjiang is a national forest park, with 1294 kinds of sub-tropical and rare trees in 122 categories and 85 kinds of them on the list of state protected plants. Crowned with the Lushan Mountain of Guangxi, Damingshan Mountain Scenic Area has an annual average temperature of 16℃. Among the 6 natural lawns on the top of the main summits, four are surrounded by the ancient timbers. Gannan Great Valley is the most spectacular with fog winding around and the bottom hard to be seen. An ancient battle site is at the foot of the mountain and groups of tumuli of Shang and Zhou Dynasties located in the east end. The density virgin forest boasts 1836 kinds of plants in 314 categories of 199 sorts. Kunlun Pass is a protective cultural relic of Guangxi. It is the site of famous Kunlun Battle. Fenghuang Lake Scenic Spot is also called Dawangtan Lake as a Dawang Temple was built there in the past. In addition, the other places such as Binjiang Park, Jinhuacha Park, Nanning Zoo, Jinshahu Tourist Resort, Xinxiu Park, Tianbao Reservoir Scenery, Shimeng Forest Park, Shishan Park, Lingshui Pond, Yiling Cave, Jinshanhu Lake, Laohuling Scenery, Mingxiu Park and Pujin Park are all the beautiful scenery spots of the city.
Of all the abundant cultural relics of Nanning, there are one state-level protective spot, 12 provincial-level protective spots and 48 county-level protective spots; in addition, there are 11 ancient buildings, revolutionary sites and commemorated buildings in the city. The Beiqiu site on Dingshi Mountain, which was discovered in 1997, is a well protected historical site of new Stone Age. It has been appraised as an ancient human life site with abundant cultural contents and the State Council has listed it in the fifth group of the state protective spots for cultural relics.
Moreover, each of the five counties of Hengxian, Shanglin, Mashan, Longan and Bingyang recently listed into Nanning area has rich tourist resources and special features.
With the beautiful landscape, Hengxian County has the fame of “the capital of China Jasmines”. The Nine-Dragon Waterfall Forest Park is 52 km away from the town area. The park covers an area of 24585 mu, totally 15 waterfalls running in the multi-green chain of mountain, and some other spots like the sculpture of Bainiaoyi, Youran Lake all make the park a wonderful resort for holiday makers.
Jinlun Cave in Mashan County is the largest and longest cave in Guangxi’s Karst Landform area. It passes through 12 mountains with the total length of 10 km. Inside the cave, it is warm in winter and cool in summer, which makes you feel quite comfortable. The different shapes of stones and rocks in the cave form various beautiful and charming pictures and sceneries.
Dalong Cave scenic spot of Shanglin is formed by Dalongdong Reservoir and Ganlong Cave spots. Dalong Cave is one of the ten Karst rocky reservoirs in the world. The water of the reservoir is as calm as mirror reflecting the inverted image of the ridges and peaks with 14 islands interspersing in the water. Located in the east of the reservoir, Ganlong Cave gives you a wonderful view composed of the stalactites lying in poly postures, with the water and caves intervolved, and three openings on the top just like skylights that you can see the sky from inside the cave.
With the total area of 21 km2and forest covering rate of 98.7%, Longhu Mountain Nature Protection Area of Longan County is a provincial nature protection area as well as a famous tourist scenic spot with typical sub-tropical karst rainfall landform. Its scenery is composed of dense forest twisted with huge vines; all beautiful trees are growing high into the sky with extremely fresh air in it. Many plants here enjoy the national first-class protection. The major scenery is monkey amusement in deep mountains, marvelous spectacle caves and potted landscape of stone forest.
Kunlun Pass Scenic Spot of Bingyang enjoys the cultural relic protection of Guangxi Autonomous Region. As the place of strategic importance in the history, nine battles took place here and the biggest and the most severe one was the Kunlun Battle during anti-Japanese War. Groups of buildings are martyr tower, martyrs’cemetery, monument and the South and North memorial archways, etc. Some top Kuomintang Officials once put their inscriptions, couplets and epigraphs there and the whole site is well maintained.
