The Ten-Mile Gallery Rural Tourism Area sits adjacent to Guiyang-Kaiyang Grade A Highway, 46 kilometers from downtown Guiyang and 18 kilometers from Kaiyang County Seat. Spanning over a dozen natural villages along the Qinglong River in Hefeng and Nanjiang Townships, the tourist zone centers on riverside pastoral landscapes and offers immersive leisure activities including sightseeing, fruit picking and amusement.

The core highlight of Ten-Mile Gallery is the authentic rural experience: staying in farmhouses, enjoying farmhouse meals, taking part in farm chores and embracing rural delights. Standout leisure programs with the highest visitor participation and revisit rates feature selenium-rich local activities: pounding selenium rice cakes, picking selenium loquats, sipping selenium green tea, tasting selenium rice wine, enjoying selenium bean curd feasts, and appreciating ethnic folk customs.
Golden Pastoral Scenery
The allure of Ten-Mile Gallery lies in its tranquil idyllic vistas, profound Shuidong Tusi culture, and vibrant Bouyi and Miao villages. Local Bouyi and Miao residents who have inhabited the Qinglong River basin for generations still preserve many traditional crafts and lifestyles, such as wine brewing, rice cake pounding, tofu making, rice milling and oil pressing.
Furthermore, Matou Village is the birthplace of Guizhou’s exclusive Shuidong Tusi culture, and its Ancient Matou Village Complex is designated a Major Historical and Cultural Site Protected at the National Level.

These landscapes have earned the Qinglong River basin the poetic reputation: "A ten-mile picturesque gallery, draped in golden hues everywhere."
In 2006, Ten-Mile Gallery Rural Tourism Area was named a National Agricultural Tourism Demonstration Site by the National Tourism Administration. In 2008, it was listed among Guizhou’s Top Ten Charming Scenic Spots and honored as Guiyang’s Best Rural Summer Leisure Resort.
Catering in the zone focuses on central Guizhou farmhouse dishes crafted from selenium-rich local produce. Every bite is infused with the rare trace element selenium, including selenium vegetables, selenium tea, selenium rice wine and selenium meat. Green pollution-free selenium vegetables, small Qinglong River fish, whole roasted lamb, free-range chicken, wild boar meat, Baihua selenium green tea and Bouyi glutinous rice wine together form the distinctive rural food culture of Ten-Mile Gallery.

Ordinary Farm Homestays
Accommodation prices generally range from ¥20 to ¥40 per person per night.
Most farm villages provide board games, barbecue and other recreational activities. The seasonal highlights follow the agricultural calendar: admire rapeseed, pear and cherry blossoms in March; taste cherries in May; join the loquat festival in June; relax by the river in July and August; celebrate harvests in September and October; and host year-end pig slaughter feasts with pork hot pot in deep winter.

Take a coach from Guiyang Bus Station to Hefeng Township. You can then reach Shuitou Village, Matou Village and other spots within Ten-Mile Gallery to visit Golden Basin of Jade Waters, Cloud Mountain Tea Sea and Wanshou Ancient Bridge.
