Baitang River Wetland Park is a provincial-level wetland park approved for establishment by the Jiangsu Provincial Forestry Bureau on December 7, 2009, covering a total area of approximately 3.79 square kilometers.

Located in the north-central part of Suining County urban area, it is bounded by Xiapi Avenue to the north, National Highway 104 to the south, Suipi Road to the east, and North Ring Road for its northeastern section. The Baitang River runs through the planned zone from south to north.

Within the scenic area lies a lake spanning roughly 1,000 mu. It organically integrates riparian space and water bodies, fully highlighting natural features and forming a lakeside environment brimming with ecological charm. Around the lake, various scenic and recreational facilities are planned, including a Popular Science Museum of Electric Power, wellness hotel zones, and a health-focused angling garden.

In addition, five 100-mu specialized plantations have been built: bamboo forests and persimmon groves, as well as begonia gardens and hawthorn orchards. There are also themed flower and fruit viewing zones with distinctive features, such as Cherry Blossom Island, Peach Blossom Island, Plum Blossom Island, chestnut orchards and lotus ponds.

The park offers year-round sightseeing experiences: enjoying flowers and spring outings in spring, admiring lotus flowers and picking water caltrops in summer, viewing reeds and harvesting fruits in autumn, and seeking plum blossoms amid snow in winter. Whether traveling on land or cruising on the lake, it can meet regular tourism demands. For wellness activities, sightseeing, casual angling and short holiday breaks amid pleasant scenery and fresh air, this wetland park stands as an unrivaled perfect retreat.

Nestled in the tranquil, picturesque heart of Baitang River Wetland Park, where winding paths stretch deep into greenery, Shuiyue Chan Temple enjoys an ideal location for Buddhist construction.

The temple takes its name for two reasons: it is surrounded by water on all sides, and Buddhist doctrines about karma, fruition, fullness and imperfection resemble the waxing and waning of the moon. Moreover, the temple centers on the cultural worship of the Water-Moon Guanyin Bodhisattva.

Its construction adheres to the core planning philosophy: "Embrace wind and nourish water with classical layout; adopt minimalist architecture and Zen-infused spaces." The uniquely conceived architectural style breaks conventional stereotypes of Buddhist buildings. The design achieves a seamless fusion of Buddhist symbols and architectural art with distinctive expressive techniques and rational functional zoning. Recently, the Jiangsu Provincial Tourist Attraction Quality Rating Committee issued its 7th official announcement. Baitang River Wetland Park Scenic Area of our county was officially listed and designated a national 3A-level tourist attraction, marking the county’s first national 3A scenic spot.
