Longzhu Two-Dragon Mountain Ski Resort
Longzhu Two-Dragon Mountain Ski Resort is situated within the AAAA-level Two-Dragon Mountain Scenic Area in Bin County, 65 kilometres east of downtown Harbin.
The lake is serene and beautiful. Two green mountain ridges stretch into the water, enclosing the Pearl Island, forming the stunning natural landscape known as "Two Dragons Playing with a Pearl". Hence the mountain was named Two-Dragon Mountain and the lake Two-Dragon Lake.
In winter, green pine trees stand amid snow like rolling clouds, creating a natural skiing paradise. In summer, willow trees line the lakeshore and sandy beaches surround the water, making it an outstanding summer retreat.
Abundant snow resources, safe ski runs, complete supporting facilities and affordable prices make this resort a favourite among skiing enthusiasts.
The average altitude of the mountain here is 300 metres. In winter, the temperature ranges from -15℃ to -18℃, with snow depth between 30 and 50 centimetres. The snow is thick with moderate hardness. The snow cover lasts for 140 days annually, offering a 120-day skiing season, which makes it an ideal destination for ski tourism.
Located on the southern bank of Two-Dragon Lake, Longzhu Ski Resort is perfect for beginner and intermediate skiers. It includes two primary ski areas, one children’s ski field, a dedicated FIS freestyle skiing competition venue, six intermediate and advanced ski runs, two large ski gear rental centres, a one-stop VIP ski service centre and a special reception zone for group VIP guests.
There are dedicated trails for sleds and snowmobiles, as well as an ice entertainment zone covering nearly ten thousand mu. Complete catering, accommodation and all-season recreational facilities are also available.
The resort can accommodate 4,000 skiers, 2,000 diners and 1,100 overnight guests at the same time, receiving more than 200,000 tourists each year. It ranks among China’s most popular winter travel destinations.
Since opening in 1999, Longzhu Two-Dragon Mountain Ski Resort has developed steadily over more than two decades, hosting over 1.7 million visitors from home and abroad. It has grown into a first-class ski resort nationwide.
It has been awarded numerous honours, including the Outdoor Extreme Sports Training Base of the Chinese Mountaineering Association, the Training Base for China’s Freestyle Ski Team preparing for the Winter Olympics, Heilongjiang SSS-Class Tourist Ski Resort, and one of Harbin’s Top Ten Tourist Attractions Popular among Teenagers.
From 1999 to 2005, the resort successfully hosted seven sessions of Heilongjiang International Ski Festival and seven Two-Dragon Mountain Landscape Tourism Festival. It also held major domestic and international events including FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup, the 10th National Winter Games, National Freestyle Skiing Championships and Tournaments.
In early 2003, it became the only tourism enterprise in Heilongjiang Province to win the title of China Famous Tourism Brand in the selection campaign held by China Tourism News.
In recent years, the ambassador delegation stationed in China has visited the resort six times during the Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival, a high recognition of its reception services.
At the beginning of 2006, it was honoured as the No.1 Brand for Quality, Service and Integrity among Chinese Ski Resorts. China Today magazine praised it as “a skiing paradise for travellers”.
