Yongqing Bridge

Yongqing Bridge is situated at Xiaxiping Village of Zhanzhou, Sankui Town. Constructed in the 2nd year of the Jiaqing reign of the Qing Dynasty (1797), it stretches 33 metres in total length, 4.5 metres in width, and stands 8 metres above the water surface. It is a wooden cantilever covered bridge. Its piers are built of bluestone, topped with two layers of cantilever beams intersecting at right angles. Wooden planks are laid to form the walkway, sheltered by a covered corridor with 12 bays. The central bay features a two-storey pavilion with double eaves, equipped with an internal staircase for access between floors. The roof boasts elegantly upturned flying eaves, presenting an elegant and simple shape. It ranks among the finest ancient flat wooden covered bridges in the county. It was designated one of the 4th batch of Cultural Relics Protection Units of Taishun County in 1994.
