Douwangling Amusement Park is located at the southern end of Shanqian Avenue in Shijiazhuang, covering more than 1,000 mu. It got its name because Dou Jiande, leader of the peasant rebel army in the late Sui Dynasty, once stationed troops, conducted military training and lived here.
As a large comprehensive amusement park that combines historical culture and modern entertainment, the scenic area is divided into three major themed zones: the Great Wall of the Zhongshan State, King Dou's Stockade, and the amusement park. King Dou's Stockade is one of the heritage sites related to the legends of Dou Jiande, an intangible cultural heritage. Built at the foot of the Taihang Mountains, it makes full use of the pass of the Zhongshan Great Wall dating back to the Warring States Period. Overlooking the plain from a commanding height, the pass is strategically vital — one defender here can hold off ten thousand enemies.
