Hongcheng Hot Spring lies 3 kilometers west of Qidong County Seat. Surrounded by rolling mountains and crisscross farmland, the spring maintains a water temperature of around 20°C all year round. Warm in winter and cool in summer, it is perfect for bathing in cold months. Its water contains a variety of trace elements that treat skin diseases and boost physical health, and is free from harmful substances such as sulfur.

Hongcheng Hot Spring was discovered prior to the 4th year of the Qingyuan reign of the Song Dynasty (1198). Zhang Yanyuan, a renowned scholar from Changan in the Ming Dynasty, inscribed a poem on a rock here: "Content to purify and nourish this village soil, I envy not the bustling paths of the Huaqing Palace."

The spring emerges from a rocky crevice cave and flows into a small pool covering roughly 20 square meters, with a discharge rate of 0.3 cubic meters per second. The spring water remains clear year-round, unaffected by rainy seasons, with an unceasing flow all through the year.
