Wanfu Temple, originally named Yuanjue Nunnery and also known as Yuanzhu Nunnery, stands to the west of Dingshan Park in the county seat. It was first built in the 1st year of the Hongwu reign of the Ming Dynasty and remained prosperous through successive dynasties.

In 2001, the temple was approved for restoration by the Provincial Religious Affairs Bureau. The reconstruction project was presided over by the Buddhist monk Master Dazhi, with funds raised through public donations and alms-gathering. The foundation stone was laid in January 2002 on a 30-mu plot of land. Built on the site were the mountain gate, Guanyin Hall, Mahavira Hall, Buddhist Scripture Library, Prajna Lecture Hall, Longevity Bridge, as well as a large quadrangle consisting of east and west monk quarters. Later, additional facilities were completed one after another, including the Meditation Residence Building, Nursing Home for Monks, releasing pond, screen wall, pagodas, pavilions, bridges and covered corridors.

The whole project cost over ten million yuan and took five years to finish. Facing south with its back to the north, the temple complex clings to the hillside with buildings arranged in a well-spaced layered layout. Featuring crimson walls and golden tiles, it exudes an antique and elegant charm, making it an ideal destination for pilgrims to worship and tourists to sightsee.
