Zhouhong Mountain, originally known as Duke Zhou Mountain, is located 7.5 kilometres north of the county seat, with an altitude of 1,767 metres. Standing atop the peak, visitors can overlook the landscapes of several neighbouring counties.

The Yongle Encyclopedia records: "Zhouhong Mountain lies beyond Shixia, to the west of Loufan. Ten li to the northwest is the Wowaqiu Spring, where Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty obtained a divine steed from the Wowaqiu waters."

The Pujing Temple on the mountaintop was first constructed during the Zhenguan reign of the Tang Dynasty. It houses the Mahavira Hall, Guanyin Hall, Manjushri Hall, Dragon King Temple and other buildings. On the mountainside stands the pagoda tomb of Monk Huitian, a distinguished monk of the Ming Dynasty.

Traditional temple fairs are held on the Dragon Boat Festival and the 15th day of the seventh lunar month every year. Zhouhong Mountain also served as the main base of the Jiaoshan peasant army led by Li Shukong and Li Zongsheng in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties.
