Route C
Assemble at the New District Stadium at 08:20. Follow the tour guide to visit Minyuan Cultural Square. Located on the Jianxi River in Shuixi New District, the square forms an integrated complex with the Administrative Center, Sports Center and Youth Activity Center, covered with layered lawns, trees and bamboo groves in lush green. With a concise layout, distinctive landscape design and profound cultural heritage, it is a model public square of northern Fujian.
Afterwards, visit Guangxiao Temple of Jian'ou on your own, one of the most renowned Buddhist temples in Fujian. Formerly named Nanshan Guangxiao Temple, it is a time-honored large-scale Buddhist shrine famed at home and abroad for its serene environment and elegant scenery.
Then proceed to Kengli Mazu Temple to view the Mazu statue carved from a single intact ancient log: the statue stands 6.8 meters tall with a base width of 3.24 meters and a total weight of approximately 10 tons. The elaborate wave and cloud carvings on both sides and the back of the main hall won the Special Gold Award at the 2003 National Master Root Carving Invitational Competition, representing extraordinary craftsmanship and rich historical cultural connotations.
After lunch, visit Fujian Shuanglong Xizhu Liquor Industry, tour Double Dragon Cave and taste the 68-degree Shuanglong Xizhu Liquor known as Fujian’s "Wuliangye".
Next, tour Jian'ou Confucian Temple (Jian'ou Museum), a thousand-year-old grand temple complex with Lingxing Gate, Buyun Bridge, Half-Moon Pond, Dacheng Hall and other ancient buildings. Walk to Madam Lian Square to learn about Madam Lian’s noble deeds, then proceed on foot to Tongxianmen Gate to experience the ancient riverside scenery that once impressed Marco Polo. Disband and return home after the tour.
