Shanyekou Scenic Area lies in Shanyekou Village, Dawuli Township, western Qian’an City, covering a total area of 14 square kilometers. Its natural landscapes feature graceful canyon streams, rocky forestland and mountaintop lakes, seamlessly integrating geological culture and local folk customs.
Famous for spectacular conglomerate rock formations and complete Archean landform strata, the site has been dubbed by geologists "A Full-Information Archive of Archean Geology and Landforms". Development of the scenic area began in 2007, positioned as an eco-tourism destination combining leisure, immersive experiences, sightseeing and entertainment. It holds National AA-level scenic spot status and forms a core component of Qian’an National Geopark.
In recent years, Qian’an has integrated new rural construction, tourism development and demonstration village initiatives to boost rural incomes. Local authorities encourage villagers to develop distinctive rural farm restaurants and homestays, delivering centralized professional training for catering staff to elevate service standards and reception capacity. A tourism development company renovated vacant houses belonging to 38 local households, implementing unified standards and centralized management for restaurants and lodgings. Today, rural characteristic tourism services at Shanyekou Scenic Area have taken initial shape.
