Sanya Fishing Opening Festival (Kaihai Festival) — Marine Fishermen’s Blessing Ritual

Time: Early August (end of annual fishing moratorium)
Venue: Yazhou Bay fishing port, Houhai Village
  • Local marine folk custom: Fishermen hold grand worship ceremonies to pray for safe voyages and abundant catches.
  • Experience: Watch traditional sea sacrifice rituals, parade of fishing boats decorated with flags, fresh seafood market fairs, and seafood feasts with just-caught fish, crabs and prawns.
