Dayu County is at the southwestern tip of Jiangxi, southwestern Ganzhou, upstream of the Zhangjiang River, and northern Yuling. It borders Nankang to the northeast, Xinfeng to the southeast, Chongyi to the northwest, Nanxiong (Guangdong) to the south, and Renhua (Guangdong) to the west. Surrounded by mountains on three sides, it has a west-high-east-low terrain with low hills and crisscrossing rivers (the Zhangjiang River, a Ganjiang tributary). Su Dongpo (Song Dynasty) praised it as "The first prefecture south of the Gengling Range." It’s famous for Yashan Scenic Area, with over 20 waterfalls, majestic peaks, and a long history—making it a top tourist destination.
