Situated 10 km northwest of Ganzhou, it’s the core of a grotto scenic area and a Major Historical and Cultural Site Protected at the National Level. Featuring Danxia landforms, rich grotto culture, numerous relics, and pleasant ecology, it’s known as "the First Grottoes in the South of the Yangtze River". Composed of sandstone hills with natural caves, one cave has an opening to the sky—hence the name. It houses Jiangxi’s largest stone niche statue group: 279 niches and 359 Buddha statues from the Tang and Song dynasties. The area around has deep valleys, gurgling springs, and ancient trees, making it ideal for sightseeing and summer retreats.
