Maoshan Mountain lies roughly 40 kilometers away from Zhenjiang, Changzhou and Nanjing, enjoying highly convenient transportation. Its main peak, Damao Peak, is the highest point of Maoshan at an altitude of 372.5 meters, resembling the head of a green dragon.
The mountain is endowed with gorgeous landscapes, featuring nine peaks, eighteen springs, twenty-six caves and twenty-eight ponds. Scattered exotic rocks and grotesque stone formations create a unique natural charm.
Maoshan is also the birthplace of the Shangqing School of Taoism. It has been home to many eminent Taoist masters, including Ge Hong of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Tao Hongjing of the Southern Dynasties, Wang Yuanzhi and Wu Yun of the Sui and Tang dynasties, as well as Wang Qixia and Zhu Huaide of the Five Dynasties.

Transport: Tourist shuttles depart from Huangshan Bus Station in Zhenjiang (cross the overpass on South Huangshan Road) every 30 minutes. Long-distance buses are also available at the coach station beside the railway station. The first bus departs at 7:30, and the ride takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes. Direct long-distance buses also run from Changzhou Bus Station to Maoshan.
