Located in the fold belt of Longmen Mountain on the eastern margin of the western geosyncline, the scenic area is in Wensheng Township, northwestern Jiangyou City, 60 kilometers from Jiangyou (connected by secondary roads), 100 kilometers from Mianyang and 220 kilometers from Chengdu (linked by Baocheng Double Railway and Mianyang-Guangyuan Expressway). Covering an area of 80 square kilometers, it features diverse karst erosion landforms—peak clusters, funnels, multi-level caves, underground rivers, gorges and cliffs—formed by intense multi-stage tectonic movements and long-term erosion. It is named after the mountain range, gorge and flat terrain resembling the Chinese character "ma" (horse) and the ancient Yangma Town.
