As a national AAAA-level and state-designated scenic area, Guiping Xishan Mountain lies 1 kilometre west of downtown Guiping, Guigang. It is a comprehensive resort integrating leisure, sightseeing and Buddhism culture.
The core scenic area covers 13.47 square kilometres. Its landform consists mainly of magmatic rock, namely granite formed in the Early Jurassic Period of the Mesozoic Era, dating back 180 million years. Renowned for five wonders: elegant woods, exotic rocks, sweet springs, fragrant tea and sacred Buddhism, Xishan features distinctive landscapes. The vegetation coverage here reaches 98%, with more than 1,500 ancient trees aged from a hundred to a thousand years. Over 400 plant species grow here, including rare golden camellia, stone banyan, dragon-scale pine, silver rattan and camphor trees.
The mountain rocks are rugged and grotesque. Piled stones form peaks, archways and caves, while split rocks create narrow gorges. The diverse rock formations present endless fun and marvelous sights.
