Full official name: Linhe District, Bayannur City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region (formerly Linhe City)
Location: Located at the apex of the Yellow River’s "Ji"-shaped bend and the heart of the Hetao Plain. It is the seat of the Bayannur Municipal People’s Government.
Area & Population: Covers around 2,333 square kilometers with a permanent resident population of approximately 585,400.
Distinctive Features: Hailed as "Jiangnan beyond the Great Wall" and "Granary of Hetao". Nestled at the southern foot of the Yin Mountains and alongside the Yellow River, it boasts developed agriculture and animal husbandry, with integrated Mongolian and Han cultures.
History: Linhe County was established during the reign of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, with a recorded history of over 2,000 years. It was designated a county-level Linhe City in 1984 and reorganized into Linhe District in 2004.
