Highways in Shangri-La
Road transport is the main way to get to Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. Linking Yunnan, Sichuan and Xizang, Diqing has a convenient transportation network with the Yunnan-Xizang Highway, Sichuan-Xizang Highway and Kangding-Xizang Highway as major arteries. For scenic spots inaccessible by roads, such as Bita Lake, visitors can only travel on horseback.
Shangri-La Long-Distance Bus Station is located in the middle section of Changzheng Road.
Lijiang to Shangri-La
The highway stretches about 187 kilometers, with a travel time of around 3 hours. Three to five coaches depart daily from 07:00 to 15:00.
Dali to Shangri-La
The total distance is approximately 300 kilometers. Minicoaches run from Dali to Zhongdian.
Panzhihua (Sichuan) to Shangri-La
The highway is around 470 kilometers long. Multiple daily coaches depart from Panzhihua (Jinjiang) Long-Distance Bus Station for Zhongdian. The fare is 90 yuan for sleeper berths and 60 yuan for regular seats.
