Xinglong Tropical Botanical Garden(XLTBG) is located in the famous Xinglong Hot Springs Tourist Attraction, in southeast Hainan (110° 13' E, 18° 15' N), 163 kilometers south of Haikou and 97 kilometers east of Sanya. It has a tropical monsoon climate, high humidity, abundant sunlight and rainfall, that creating a highly suitable environment for all kinds of tropical & sub-tropical plants. With a collection of more than 1200 plant species, the Garden has now become an integrated tropical garden for scientific research, public science education, processing, sight-seeing as well as germplasm resources protection.

XLTBG is divided into five functional areas: Ornamental Plants Area, Experimental Demonstration Area, Scientific Development Area, Stereoscopic Raising Area and Eco-Recreation Area. It collects 12 kinds of plants: Tropical Spice Plants, Beverage Plants, Fruit Trees, Tropical Economic Forest Trees, Medicinal Plants, Palm Trees, Water Plants, Rare & Exotic Plants, Cacti and Succulents, and Green Vegetables. A walk in the Garden will guide you into an encyclopedia of tropical plants. Wonders of nature, famous and rare species are easily within your sight. Passing through the Garden, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by your exploration. Various kinds of peculiar tropical flowers and trees create a beautiful picture. The dark green mountain, the blue water, the eco-atmosphere and the fresh air will wash away your worries and make you feel more energetic. It's said that people should never visit Hainan without coming to Xinglong Tropical Botanical Garden.

In recent years, XLTBG is dedicated to developing special tourist programs, which consist of tropical plants sight seeing, agricultural scientific research, eco-recreation, etc. The Garden is open year-round. It’s suitable for people of all ages. When you get tired after a long tour in the garden, you can go to the reception center and sample the free refreshments of various Garden drinks.

XLTBG has been honored with the titles of “National AAAA Tourist Attraction”, “National Agriculture Tourism Demonstration Unit”, and “National Youth Civilized Model”. It has passed the authentication of ISO9001 ＆ ISO14001.
