Tiger Roaring Rock lies south of the Second Bend Stream. Towering bizarre rock formations stand alongside winding brooks, forming an enchanting scenic spot blessed with natural springs and stone landscapes. Four giant Chinese characters “Spirit Cave of Tiger Stream” are carved high on the rock face. The roaring sound that gives the site its name emanates from a massive cave atop the rock. When mountain winds sweep through the cave mouth, they produce thunderous roars echoing through the valleys and reverberating across surrounding peaks. Praised as “every view unfolds a painting”, Tiger Roaring Rock has become a newly popular tourist route. Its core attractions include Tiancheng Buddhist Temple and the Eight Scenic Sights of Tiger Roaring.

Nestled beneath the sheer cliffs of Tiger Roaring Rock, Tiancheng Buddhist Temple is sheltered by an overhanging precipice that forms an enormous natural grotto. The entire temple requires no roof tiles yet stays fully shielded from wind and rain.

The Eight Scenic Sights of Tiger Roaring are: White Lotus Drift, Cloud-Gathering Pass, Po Immortal’s Belt, Universal Gate Cove, Rainfall Waterfall, Toddler’s Gurgling Spring, Still Boat and Dawn Greeting Cave. Newly developed spots include observation decks, tea houses and Destiny Bridge. The resort area is roughly 4 kilometers away from Tiger Roaring Rock.

Deep within a secluded canyon south of the Second Bend of the Nine-Bend Stream stands a towering giant stone bluff hundreds of zhang long and a thousand ren high, known as Spirit Rock. Its overhanging summit covers three connected caves: Spirit Cave on the left, Wind Cave in the middle, and Fuxi Cave on the right. Enter the rock through Fuxi Cave and venture deep inside. Looking upward, visitors will spot a narrow fissure split across the rock ceiling as if cleaved by a sharp axe. Less than one foot wide and over a hundred meters long, the crack lets in a thin streak of sunlight stretching like a jade rainbow across the void — the breathtaking One-Line Sky, hailed as a miraculous work of nature.
