1. Cuandixia Village
Cuandixia Village is built by the mountain, and takes the back dragon head as the center of the circle and axes from north to south. The whole village is fan-shaped on both sides, with 74 sets of residential houses with 689 rooms in the Qing Dynasty. There are ancient acacias, green tiles, mud walls and small courtyards, making it a typical rural village in the 18th century of China.
2. Shuiyu Village
Shuiyu Village is a village in the deep mountainous area, and features a well preserved natural ecology. What is especially valuable is that there are still more than 100 sets of quadrangle dwellings with 600 rooms from the Ming and Qing dynasties in the village. An "S" shaped ancient road made of green stone runs through the village. The village is circular in shape, forming a unique architectural style. The most representative buildings include the Yang Family Courtyard and the Temple of Goddess. The Yang Family Courtyard was built in stone during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. Shuiyu Village is also a folklore and cultural tourism village. The 128 stone mills in the village have set a Guinness World Record.
3. Nanjiao Village
Nanjiao Village in Nanjiao Township has a history of more than 600 years and is a traditional village and one of the "Nine Ancient Towns". The original monuments are still preserved here, such as the Renyi Agency, the arcade, the ancient theater, the old street with ancient trees and so on. They carry rich cultural connotations and record the long history of the old village.
The ancient houses are located among the green hills and clear waters, scattered on both sides of the narrow streets. These houses contain the wisdom, exquisite skills and extraordinary aesthetic connotations of the ancient Nanjiao people from the scale, pattern, totems to the architectural style.
4. Gubeikou Village
Now when it comes to Miyun, you will immediately think of Gubei Water Town. But if you consider Gubeikou or Gubeikou Great Wall as Gubeikou Water Town, you have made a mistake. In Miyun District of Beijing, there is not only Gubeikou Town, the first batch of national characteristic towns, but also Gubeikou Village and other traditional ancient villages.
Gubeikou Village is located at the foot of the Great Wall and beside the Chaohe River. It has beautiful natural scenery and rich tourism resources. Panlong Mountain in the north of the village is one of the two major barriers of the Gubeikou Pass, and this part of the Great Wall is famous for preserving its original historical appearance. The General Tower and the 24-eye Tower are the essence of the architecture of this section of the Great Wall. Step on the stone steps that carry history, wander among the old alleys of the ancient village, and watch the new buds spitting green. Come to the ancient villages and find the story of spring in the suburbs of Beijing!
