Located in the Pinggu District east of Beijing, the tourism area of Jingdong Grand Canyon is composed of the Grand Canyon and the Jingtai Mountain, covering a total area of 20km2. The Grand Canyon is narrow and deep with steep sides. The Jingtai Mountain is flat and wide and towering into the cloud. There is a couplet praising "Explore the canyon to feel the mystical and secluded beauty; climb the mountain peak to overlook the numerous spectacular mountains and valleys." The Grand Canyon is 6li (3km) in depth and has five wonderful attractions. The first is the free-falling waterfall. The waterfall is more than 30m high, and falls straight down from the high. The scenery is breathtaking and its sound can continuously resound in the valley.The second wonder is the soaring cliffs. The high cliffs in the canyon are as upright as a wall going straight into the sky. Walking under it, you may find it nervous and terrified at the thought of the cliffs falling down. The third wonder is a chain of clear ponds. There are five ponds in the Canyon. Some are clear to see fish; some are so deep that you cannot image; some are flowing quietly; some are turbulent. They are connected into a chain, making the canyon become more alive. The fourth is the precariously suspended gallery road. The Grand Canyon is narrow and curvy, steep and dangerous. When you pass through the visiting gallery road hanging between the sides of the canyon, you can both feel the danger and the endless fun. The fifth wonder is the mirror-like clear lake. The 40,000-square-meter Longmen Lake can reflect the shadow of surrounding mountain peaks. The gulls and ducks on the water provide another special scenery to enjoy. The tourists can also go either wading and rafting, or boating and fishing. What a fun of seclusion! The Jingdong Grand Canyon tourist area shows different landscapes in different seasons. In spring, the mountains and flowers are blooming, and the birds are singing. In summer, the breeze is gentle, brisk and refreshing. In autumn, the mountains are covered with red leaves. In winter, the tree and mountain tips are completely enclosed by ice, just like wearing a silver armor. What you see and hear in the four seasons is very different, and each has its own merits.
