The Fairy Lake scenic area is located in the southwest of Xinyu City, Jiangxi Province. It covers a total area of 179 square kilometers, 50 square kilometers of which is water. It is a key scenic area which mixes lake sightseeing, entertainment, and relaxation together. The Fairy Lake scenic area consists of three major scenic spots. In the east of the scenic area are the Wulong Lake scenic area containing more than 100 scenic islands and 25 main ports and reservoirs.

　　In the area there are dozens of harbors, islands, and cultivated forests and changing landscape. In the middle is the Zhongshan Gorge scenic area famous for steep mountains and a strong current. In the west is the Qianyang Lake scenic area frequented by fishing fans. The mild subtropical climate in the Fairy Lake allows more than 3000 plant species to grow well.
