2. Taking High-speed Trains to Lushan & Transfer Information
Direct high-speed trains to Lushan Station have been available since the opening of the Xiangtang–Putian Railway in 2014.
For example, you can take a direct train from Xiamen North Station to Lushan Station. The second-class fare is 237 RMB, and the journey takes 5 hours and 29 minutes.
Note: Lushan High-speed Railway Station is named after its location within the Lushan administrative area, and it is not right at the foot of the scenic mountain. There are two transfer options:
- Take a taxi from Lushan Railway Station to Shahe Station, where you can catch a coach heading to Lushan Mountain.
- Take a 10-minute high-speed train ride from Lushan Station to Jiujiang Station. From Jiujiang Long-distance Bus Station, minibuses and coaches depart for the mountain every half an hour. The one-way ticket costs 9 RMB.
Recommendation: Travelling via Jiujiang is the most convenient and cost-effective choice.
3. Taking Buses from Jiujiang to Lushan Mountain
Minibuses and coaches leave Jiujiang Long-distance Bus Station for Lushan every 30 minutes. The fare is 9 RMB per person.
4. Taking Buses from Nanchang to Lushan Mountain
Daily scheduled coaches run from Nanchang Long-distance Bus Station to Lushan.
A minibus departs at 08:25 every morning, with additional trips arranged during the peak tourist season. The bus fare uphill is 36 RMB.
Alternative route: Travel to Jiujiang first.
From Nanchang, take a high-speed train (52 minutes) or a regular train (about 1 hour 30 minutes) to Jiujiang Railway Station.
Then take Bus No. 101, 102 or 105 to Jiujiang Long-distance Bus Station, and transfer to the coach going up the mountain.
Lushan Railway Station is located in Shahe Town, Jiujiang County, more than 40 kilometres away from the actual Lushan scenic area.
