It is recommended to visit Wenbo Springs in the morning on Day 1. The scenery here is stunning, especially its three ponds: Jingbo Pond, Libo Pond and Bibo Pond. In the afternoon, head to the South Drinking Spring to soak your feet or bathe in the spring water. The water is icy cold yet highly beneficial to health. After soaking for a while, you need to lie on large stones to sunbathe. Every summer, Russian visitors come here and stay for a whole month bathing in the springs to treat illnesses.
You may also fetch some spring water to take back. Water from the South and North Drinking Springs can be stored in a thermos flask for one day, or kept in the refrigerator for longer. Heat insulation is key for preservation, and regular consumption brings great benefits to the body. A trip to the North Drinking Spring is optional after visiting the South Drinking Spring.
Next, go to Erlongyan Spring. Its water is incredibly sweet and pleasant to drink. Every time we come here, we bring two large buckets to fill up Erlongyan spring water for home use, plus a thermos to carry water from the South and North Drinking Springs.
Spend Day 2 exploring Laoheishan Scenic Area, the core attraction of Wudalianchi. The scenic area consists of three visiting sections: climbing Laoheishan to overlook the volcanic crater and the entire Wudalianchi lake cluster; strolling around the Third Lake Dock to get an up-close view of the lake; and visiting another volcanic mountain whose name I cannot recall. The combined ticket includes shuttle bus rides within the scenic area. In the evening, you can return to the South Drinking Spring to fetch more spring water to drink.
