The Best Travel Seasons for Yichun
Summer and autumn are the ideal time to visit Yichun.
Nestled deep among mountains and forests at an average altitude of over 600 meters, Yichun features a subarctic climate and ranks among China’s cities with the lowest average temperatures. Influenced by alternating continental and maritime monsoons, it sees striking seasonal variations. Winters are long, dry and bitterly cold; summers are cool with long hours of sunshine; spring and autumn have changeable weather. Spring is windy, while autumn boasts crisp, clear weather perfect for sightseeing.
Cool summers and abundant water resources make Yichun a fantastic destination for river drifting and escaping the heat. In autumn, mountain forests are blanketed in gorgeous multi-hued foliage under pleasant weather. Additionally, the city hosts the Forest Ecotourism Festival in summer and the Multicolored Mountain Viewing Festival in autumn, both brimming with unique local characteristics.
Though winter offers stunning vistas of snow-covered forests, the local comprehensive conditions including transportation and outdoor environment make it less suitable for travel.
