How to Get to Hukou Waterfall

Public Transport

1. Direct coaches from Xi’an East Passenger Transport Station to Hukou Waterfall

   Two daily departures: 08:00 and 13:20.

   They arrive at the scenic area at roughly 13:30 and 18:00 respectively.

   Buses stop in Yichuan County for a 10–30 minute break for passengers to have meals.
2. Tour shuttle minibuses from Yan’an South Bus Station (Baota District) to Hukou Waterfall

   Three daily departures: 07:30, 08:20 and 15:30.

   Return trips leave at 12:00, 14:00 and 07:30 the next morning.

Self-Driving Routes

1. Xi’an Route

   Enter Baomao Expressway from Weiyang North toll station in Xi’an.

   Take the Taiyuan / Lanzhou exit near Luochuan, then merge onto Qinglan Expressway toward Linfen / Taiyuan.

   Exit the expressway at Hukou, then drive about 4.6 km along National Highway 309 to reach the main scenic zone.

   The whole trip is around 300 km, taking 3 hours and 40 minutes. Clear road signs are available along the way. Service stations at Tongchuan, Yijun, Huangling, Luochuan and Hukou offer refueling, dining and other facilities.
2. Yan’an Route

   Take the Yan’an–Hukou tourist highway directly to Hukou. The total length is 124 km with a general speed limit of 60 km/h and good road conditions.

   The Yanhu Highway starts about 5 km south of downtown Yan’an. Turn right at the junction to Yangou, where signs point toward Hukou.

   Road signs are clearly marked throughout the route, and major towns along the way provide refueling, dining and shopping services.
