Picking Tour at Zhanhua Winter Jujube Ecological Tourism Zone, Binzhou
Brief Introduction
Zhanhua winter jujube is a rare precious fruit nurtured by Zhanhua’s unique geological and climatic conditions, named for its late ripening period. It delivers an excellent sweet, crisp and refreshing taste, and contains 18 essential amino acids as well as multiple vitamins for human bodies. It has successively won the titles of "China Famous Agricultural Product", "Top Ten Famous Jujubes in China" and "100 Must-Buy Characteristic Commodities in Shandong", and been certified as a National Geographical Indication Product and a China Well-Known Trademark.
Centered on three core themes — ecology, leisure and fruit picking, Zhanhua Winter Jujube Ecological Tourism Zone organically integrates jujube groves, reed wetlands and tranquil lake waters. Inside the park lie a 100-meter wooden plank road, winding bridges over lotus ponds, jujube viewing platforms, green appreciation pavilions, lush green corridors and tasting chambers.
Visitors can wander the orchard, pick and taste fresh winter jujubes to embrace the joy of harvest. They may also stay in farm homestays and enjoy authentic farmhouse meals, immersing themselves in rustic countryside charm far away from urban hustle and bustle, reluctant to leave.
The scenic area has been honored as a National AAA-level Tourist Attraction, National Agricultural Tourism Demonstration Site, Shandong’s Most Promising Scenic Spot, Shandong Self-Driving Tour Demonstration Site, and the Best Leisure & Vacation Destination of Beautiful China (Shandong) for 2011.
The Zhanhua Winter Jujube Festival, held for thirteen consecutive sessions, ranks among the most influential festival tourism events in Shandong and even the whole country during the National Day Golden Week, receiving over 400,000 visitors annually.
