Fragrant Snow Garden Picking Tour, Old Yellow River Forest Park, Xiajin County, Dezhou

Nestled within Xiajin Old Yellow River Forest Park, Fragrant Snow Garden covers an area of 1,100 mu, with over 2,000 ancient pear trees aged more than one hundred years concentrated in the south of Yihezhuang Village, Suliuzhuang Town.

The garden houses sculptures themed on the Boxer Uprising, Drunken Concubine, Romance of the Western Chamber, and Butterfly Lovers. Tens of thousands of pear trees grow here, among which more than 2,000 date back over a century. The pear orchard presents distinct enchanting scenery in every season. In winter, mist shrouds the vast forest blanketed in snow, offering breathtaking views. If you are lucky enough to witness the rare rime spectacle, you will truly feel like stepping into a fairyland on earth.

Signature scenic spots include the Ancient Pear Tree Viewing Area, King Pear Tree Scenic Zone, and Boxer Uprising Sculpture Group. The orchard boasts over a thousand century-old trees and more than 20 pear varieties, such as Ya pear, soft pear, sour pear and snow pear, alongside premium cultivars including Hongwanjiu, Wansanji and Jiuxiangwu. Ya pear is deeply favored by urban and rural residents for its fine flesh, early ripening, superior quality and attractive shape. The thousand-mu pear orchard yields nearly ten million jin of fruit annually, which sells well in Beijing and Tianjin.

The themed sculptures of Romance of the Western Chamber, Empty City Strategy and other classics fully interpret the opera culture of Fragrant Snow Garden. Leisure facilities such as swings, wooden suspension bridges and plum blossom stakes are arranged along both sides of the garden roads.
