The hotel lobby covers 15 mu, filled with lush hundreds of tropical plants from Hainan and overseas. Rockeries, waterfalls, small bridges over flowing streams, pavilions, verandas and towers can all be found here.

Tomb of the King of Sulu

The ancient Kingdom of Sulu was located on the Sulu Archipelago in the Philippines. Close friendly exchanges between Sulu and China began in the Ming Dynasty. During the Yongle reign, the King of Sulu led more than 340 family members and officials on a state visit to China, receiving a grand reception from the Yongle Emperor. On his voyage home via the Grand Canal, the king fell ill and passed away in Dezhou. The Ming court buried him with full royal honors here. A dedicated plot of land was allocated for the late king’s princess consort, his second and third sons, and their entourage to guard the mausoleum. Their descendants adopted the surnames Wen and An and integrated into the Hui ethnic group. Villages dominated by these two surnames grew up around the tomb. Over six centuries, they have fully merged into the Chinese nation with no distinguishable differences.

Jian River Wetland Scenic Area

Centered on the Jian River, the park features waterfront green belts lined with reeds and cattails on both banks. The whole project falls into four sections: sewage treatment, water landscape, wetland scenery, and agritourism picking. Construction works include widening water surfaces, constructing wetlands, rearranging vegetation, highlighting scenic nodes and improving supporting facilities to build a riverside park. While preserving the river’s original flood discharge function, the project endows it with ecological and ornamental value.
The scenic zone is divided into three parts: southern wetland area, central wetland landscape zone and northern achievement exhibition zone. Its signature landmarks include iron pagodas, sculptures, windmills and water wheels. Two sculptures carrying profound local cultural connotations — Chang’e Flying to the Moon and Houyi Shooting the Suns — stand here. Visitors can appreciate natural vistas of lotus ponds, ten-li reed marshes, fish-filled pools and vast blue waters, a rare urban primitive ecological retreat for locals and tourists alike.
