What fun places are there in Fuyang? Where should I visit in Fuyang?
Fuyang Ecological Park
The ecological park consists of fourteen functional zones, including fruit and vegetable planting areas, a water park, a zoo, a cultural garden and a tropical botanical garden. Visitors can sightsee, appreciate landscapes, taste local produce, learn new knowledge, enjoy entertainment and relax here, enjoying full integration between humans and nature.
Boasting an elegant environment and gorgeous scenery, the park recreates the picturesque view depicted in the timeless poem by Ouyang Xiu: I’d trade the moonlight over Twenty-Four Bridges for ten hectares of autumn scenery at West Lake.
Bali River Scenic Area
Located in Yingshang County southeast of Fuyang, the core zones of Bali River Scenic Area cover World Landmarks, Splendid China, Blue Waves Sightseeing Zone and Bird Forest. It is reputed as "the No.1 Farmers’ Park under Heaven".
The World Landmarks Zone features miniature replicas of world-famous architectures, such as the Temple of Zeus in Greece, the Arc de Triomphe in France, Dutch windmills, the Sacré-Cœur Basilica in Paris and the White Pagoda of Beihai. Visitors can admire iconic global landmarks without traveling thousands of miles.
Yingzhou West Lake
The ancient Yingzhou West Lake is a scenic lake named after Fuyang, which was called "Ying" starting from the Northern Wei Dynasty. Together with West Lake in Hangzhou, West Lake in Huizhou and Slender West Lake in Yangzhou, it ranks among China’s Four Great West Lakes.
Yingzhou West Lake boasts more than 20 scenic spots, including Clear Ripples Pavilion, Nine-Turn Bridge, Ladies’ Platform, Drunken Immortal Residence, West Lake Stone Stele Forest, Hundred Flowers Garden, Joy Garden and Dressing Platform.
Digou Ecological Paradise
Digou Ecological Paradise is situated in Yingshang County, Fuyang. It encloses Zhuyin Temple, the Hall of Five Hundred Arhats and an ecological park. The Hall of Five Hundred Arhats houses intact statues entirely carved from whole camphor logs, hailed as "a brilliant pearl in China’s treasure trove of sculptural art".
Inside the ecological park, lakes, islets, hills and gardens are laid out in perfect harmony. Swan Lake glistens with blue waves, where fish leap and birds chirp, forming poetic natural scenery. Swaying plants dance gently in the breeze, exuding unique charm.
Wangjiaba National Wetland Park
Wangjiaba National Wetland Park lies in a special transitional zone where China’s northern and southern flora converge. In early summer each year, mudflats emerge covered in lush green grass, attracting numerous waterfowl to roost and breed, presenting a spectacular sight.
The wetland park features distinct layered landscapes with stunning views in all four seasons, forming an exclusive ecological scroll of wetlands.
Fuyang Wenfeng Pagoda
Constructed in the 35th year of the Kangxi reign (1696), Wenfeng Pagoda was built to boost local literary prosperity. Entirely built of bricks, the seven-story octagonal pagoda has a simple yet solemn shape.
Closely associated with literary culture, the pagoda also carries strong Taoist features. Its brick carvings include auspicious patterns: longevity deer, ganoderma lucidum, dragons and phoenixes, the carp leaping over the dragon gate (a symbol of academic success cherished by scholars), as well as yin-yang fish motifs.
