The Longzi Lake Scenic Area unites green hills and blue waters, featuring winding shorelines, an expansive water surface and exposed precipices and exotic rock formations. It combines delightful natural landscapes with profound cultural relics.
The scenic area is divided into four major zones: North Lake, South Lake, West Lushan and Cone Mountain. Surrounded by mountains on three sides, the lake harmonizes mountains and waters. On the eastern bank stand Cao Mountain and Cone Mountain, rolling like a giant dragon, hence their collective name "Double Dragon Mountains". To the south lie nine streams of varying sizes, the source of Longzi Lake. To the west stretch Snow Flower Mountain and Plum Blossom Mountain, covered in lush vegetation. This idyllic landscape of green hills and clear waters is renowned far and wide.
Now classified as a national AAAA-level tourist attraction, Longzi Lake covers a water area of 8.4 square kilometers. In 1998, it was designated a provincial-level scenic area by the Anhui Provincial People’s Government. In 2002, it was approved as a national ecological demonstration zone by the State Environmental Protection Administration.
