How to Get to Yancheng Dazong Lake
Dazong Lake lies in the western suburbs of Yancheng. Shaped like an ellipse, it stretches 6 kilometers from east to west and 5.5 kilometers from north to south, covering a total area of 45,000 mu with an average water depth of around 1 meter. The lake water is crystal clear, with fish swimming plainly visible. Along the lakeshore stand tall and sturdy pine trees, graceful weeping willows and lush green bamboos, forming a dense woodland.
Scattered around the lake are the tomb of Chen Lin, one of the Seven Scholars of Jian'an in the Eastern Han Dynasty, and the historic site where the dutiful son Wang Xiang lay on ice. A graceful statue of a fisher maiden stands at the lake entrance, welcoming visitors from all over.
The scenic area features ten major attractions: Ten-li Lotus Pond, Fishermen's Ballads on Xiangzhou Islet, Leaping Fish and Soaring Kites, Pagoda Silhouette under Buddhist Light, Moon-walking Cloud Corridor, Mirage Wonderland, Crabs Amid Blue Waves, Lovers' Cottages, Autumn Moon over Calm Lake and Water World. With serene scenery and tranquil charm, Dazong Lake presents its peaceful and elegant natural beauty to all tourists.
