Lianzhou Underground River is situated 26 kilometers northeast of the historic cultural city of Lianzhou, amid towering mountains at the junction of Guangdong, Guangxi and Hunan Provinces. It is a gigantic natural limestone cave featuring typical subtropical karst landforms. Geologists confirm the cave took shape due to crustal movements 200 million years ago. The explorable area covers 60,000 square meters, with its highest point reaching 47.8 meters and maximum width stretching 53.6 meters.

Tips: Lianzhou is roughly 260 kilometers from Guangzhou. Take the Guangqing Expressway from Guangzhou to Qingyuan, then switch to the Qinglian Expressway heading for Lianzhou.

Located in Qingxin County, Qingyuan Lavender World is China’s first lavender-themed scenic park. As you step inside, endless fields are planted with diverse lavender varieties, including fernleaf lavender, narrow-leaved lavender, toothed lavender and sweet lavender, each bearing blooms with distinct fragrances. Fernleaf lavender blooms purple blossoms all year round, swaying gently in the wind like performing an elegant dance.

Nestled within Nanling National Nature Reserve, the scenic area lies 220 kilometers from downtown Guangzhou and spans about 138 square kilometers. Shikengkong Peak inside the zone stands at an altitude of 1,902 meters, the highest mountain in Guangdong, hailed as the "Himalayas of Guangdong". Majestic, steep and picturesque, it is encircled by scattered towering peaks shaped by natural craftsmanship.

Tianmengou Valley is located in Shigutang Town, Yingde City, Guangdong Province, an underdeveloped pristine natural scenic spot. Divided into over ten famous natural landscapes including nine stations and one corridor, the whole valley stretches 5,000 meters with more than 10,000 stone steps. Hikers climb over 800 meters in elevation and cross four major vertical drops to embrace tranquil yet wild primeval scenery. The valley’s tiered cascades of over a hundred waterfalls are an unparalleled sight.

Perched halfway up the scenic Sanpai Mountain Range, 11 kilometers south of Liannan County Seat, Sanpai Yao Village is a comprehensive tourist destination fully showcasing Pa Yao origins, culture, art, daily customs, residential architecture, ethnic costumes, folk songs and dances. Drive winding mountain roads from the county town amid lush trees and picturesque mountain vistas, and you will spot Yao villagers in traditional ethnic attire traveling along the way.

Tips: The Yao bonfire gala fully presents Yao traditions and folk performing arts. Visitors are welcome to sing and dance with locals to experience their sincere, simple hospitality.

Niuyu Mouth Primeval Ecological Scenic Area sits in Xiutianluo Village, Dongcheng Subdistrict (formerly Fucheng), Qingyuan City, covering a total area of 3,800 mu with a water surface of 6.6 hectares. The mountain hosts over 2,000 wild plant species and more than 100 kinds of wild animals, including rare flora under national Class I and Class II protection. Functioning as an original subtropical wild botanical garden, it boasts high scientific research value.

Tips: A full tour of the scenic area takes around one full day. Set off for mountain hikes in the morning; wear sports shoes as some mountain paths are rugged.
