What Special Local Products Does Lianzhou Have?

Fengyang Dried Beef

Fengyang Dried Beef is an iconic specialty of Lianzhou. Only premium beef is selected as raw material. When eaten slowly with gentle chewing, it leaves a long-lasting pleasant aftertaste and lingering meat fragrance in the mouth, delivering an exquisite flavour. Its one-of-a-kind taste is shaped by the unique climate of Fengyang Town, so this dried beef is exclusively produced here in limited quantities. You can buy it at local markets in Fengyang.

Lianzhou White Tea

Commonly known as Tengpo Tea, Lianzhou White Tea comes from a vine-like wild plant growing in the mountains of Lianzhou. It clears internal heat, nourishes the lungs, relieves summer heat and reduces inflammation. Legend has it that when Liu Yuxi served as the prefect during the Tang Dynasty, Tengpo Tea had already become a staple homemade tea for every household across Lianzhou.

Lianzhou Camellia Oil

Lianzhou Camellia Oil boasts superior quality and abundant nutrients. It helps lower blood lipids and prevent cancer, making it a pure, pollution-free green premium product. Distinctive geographic conditions, mild climate and totally unpolluted wild growth environment jointly create the unique fine quality of Lianzhou camellia trees.

Lianzhou Rabdosia Herb

When summer arrives or people suffer internal heat after eating fried food, most locals in Lianzhou will brew a cup of Rabdosia herb tea to clear toxic heat inside the body. This herb is also a signature product of this renowned hometown of longevity.

Yao Native Black Pork

Yao native black pigs are raised in a distinctive fully organic farming mode. Breeders adopt the traditional Yao pig-raising techniques, paired with exclusive natural green feed and scientific management. The pigs roam freely amid picturesque mountains and clear waters, yielding tender, flavourful pork with an outstanding mouthfeel.

Lianzhou Shafang Rice Noodles

Visually similar to rice vermicelli, this noodle is also a rice product. Local rice is ground into rice batter, steamed flat just like rice rolls, sun-dried thoroughly, then cut into fine strips.

Lianzhou Pickled Vegetables

Located in the mountainous northern Guangdong, Lianzhou features simple, rustic local food flavours dominated by sour, spicy and aromatic tastes. A wide variety of pickled vegetables are available here, roughly 20 types in total, including pickled sweet potato vine shreds, cowpea shreds, water spinach stems, taro leaves and sour ginger shreds.

Polygonatum Glutinous Rice Wine

Polygonatum, nicknamed mountain ginger and anciently called yellow ganoderma, is hailed as a miraculous medicinal herb comparable to lingzhi mushroom. It replenishes vital energy, nourishes the lungs, dispels wind and nourishes blood, and is a well-known traditional Chinese medicinal herb.
Locals steep nutrient-rich glutinous rice wine with polygonatum to make Polygonatum Glutinous Rice Wine. The wine has a reddish-brown, clear and transparent appearance with a rich aroma and mellow sweet taste. Regular consumption benefits the spleen and dispels dampness, soothes the lungs to stop coughing, and tonifies the kidneys and essence.
