Where Is Shangchuan Island Located?

Shangchuan Island lies in the southwest of Taishan City, Guangdong Province, standing amid the South China Sea. To its east are Hong Kong, Macao and the Zhuhai Special Economic Zone. It is 87 nautical miles away from Hong Kong and 58 nautical miles from Macao, while only 9.8 nautical miles from Shanzui Wharf on the mainland.

Shangchuan Island boasts numerous charming beaches. The most popular ones are Feisha Beach (4,800 metres long), Jinsha Beach (5,200 metres long) and Yinsha Beach (800 metres long). The three beaches are merely one kilometre apart from one another. Though each features its own unique scenery, they all share common merits: fine, pure white sand, crystal-clear seawater, wide and gentle shorelines, mild rolling waves, and lush dense woods stretching inland.
