What Seas Are There in Huizhou? Top Coastal Spots to Visit in Huizhou in 2018
Every summer, when it comes to beaches, Xunliao Bay and Shuangyue Bay in Huizhou are absolute must-sees. Stretching along China’s southern coastline, these natural white sand shores are interspersed with graceful mountain landscapes, making them a paradise for beach lovers.
Xunliao Bay, Huizhou
Xunliao Bay boasts some of the clearest seawater along the hundreds of kilometers of coastline in eastern Guangdong. Walk along its soft beaches, soak up premium sunshine and fresh air, and immerse yourself in the poetic scenery of blue skies, white clouds, golden sands and rolling waves. Explore the vibrant underwater world (ticket required) for an unforgettable coastal getaway.
There is a dazzling array of marine activities to choose from: banana boats, kayaks, luxury yachts, speedboats, jet skis and more. Xunliao Bay is home to rare underwater coral reefs in China. Take a yacht to Coral Island, put on full diving gear, and dive safely under the guidance of professional instructors.
Shuangyue Bay
Shuangyue Bay is a short drive from Xunliao Bay, taking roughly 30 to 50 minutes by car. I finally picked Shuangyue Bay after hearing rave reviews about its stunning scenery. I took Friday off work and spent a total of three days there. I left the office early Friday morning via a rideshare that cost around 120 yuan, and stayed in a residential complex within Red Bay.
As its name suggests, Shuangyue Bay consists of two separate bays divided by a residential zone, and visitors can only stay on one side. I lodged at Red Bay, where the waters tend to be rough and choppy, while the Daya Bay side has calm waters. A friend of mine stayed at Wanda Hotel on the Daya Bay side.
Luojiao Coastline (Conch Cape Coast)
Located within Xunliao Bay on the Huidong Peninsula, Luojiao Coastline features crystal-clear azure waters, powdery white sand beaches and jagged bizarre rock formations, evoking the feeling of being at the remotest edge of the sea.
This Conch Cape hiking trek departs from Xiashanpu Village. Hikers will wind through dense woods, stone caves and jagged reefs, pass Mozishi Beach, and finish the journey at Sheraton Golden Bay Hotel.
