Since ancient times, there has been a famous line praising Sichuan’s scenery: "Qingcheng Mountain for serenity, Emei Mountain for grace, Kuimen Pass for peril, and Jiange Pass for grandeur." For many travelers, Jiange Pass is the symbol of Guangyuan tourism.
It has long served as a vital strategic gateway to and from Sichuan. The renowned Three Kingdoms general Jiang Wei once garrisoned here, and the ancient saying "One man defending the pass can hold back ten thousand foes" perfectly describes its terrain.
Jiange Pass is celebrated for four distinctive views: Misty Rain over Jiange, Pine Waves on Liangshan Mountain, Sunset Glow over the Steep Cliffs and Sea of Clouds over Wangyun Peak. The sea of clouds and lingering drizzle are especially enchanting.
Sea of Clouds: On early summer and autumn mornings, rolling clouds surge like an ocean, with peaks emerging and fading amid the mist just like dragons frolicking on the waves, presenting a magnificent sight.
Misty Rain: In late autumn, fine drizzles may last for dozens of days. Veiled in thin mist, the green mountains look picturesque and poetic. The great Southern Song poet Lu You depicted this exact scene in his line: "Riding a donkey through fine rain, I enter Jiange Pass."
The scenic area also features entertaining activities such as the 4D movie Magic Birds of Jiange and alpine zip lines.
