Nestled in the middle section of the Dajian Mountain, Jiange Pass is flanked by sheer precipices. It earns the reputation of the most perilous pass under heaven. 1. How long does it take to visit Jiange Pass?
A single day is enough to explore the scenic area thoroughly. Most travelers extend their trip to include Langzhong Ancient Town nearby instead of just visiting Jiange Pass alone. If you only plan to tour Jiange Pass, one day will cover all major attractions.
2. Tour Route
Enter the scenic area through the North Gate. You may either take the one-way cableway (¥50 per person) or walk to the entrance of Bird Path.
Hike along the thrilling Bird Path, then proceed to the Suspended Glass Viewing Platform — ranked No.1 in Asia and No.2 across the globe. From here, you can overlook the Seventy-Two Peaks of Jiange and gaze into the distance at Dajian Mountain.
Next, visit Liangshan Temple. Pass through the Large and Small Caves while enjoying the roadside scenery, then head downhill to Liangshan Pavilion for a distant view of Stone Bamboo Peak. Walk along the winding Ladder Gorge Plank Road built on the cliffside to admire the natural landscapes of Jiange Pass.
Cross Thunder Roaring Bridge to reach the Jiange Pass Tower. Climb up the pass known as the Grandest Pass under Heaven and experience its legendary perilous terrain. Pass by the Statue of General Jiang Wei Defending the Pass to learn stories of the Three Kingdoms period, and finally exit the scenic area via the South Gate
