Medicine King Valley (Yaowang Valley)
Located on Yaowang Mountain at the border between Beichuan Qiang Autonomous County and Jiangyou City, the resort covers a total area of about 10 square kilometers. It is close to the Eastern Jiuhuan Highway (Jiangyou-Pingwu), 64 kilometers from Mianyang City and 166 kilometers from Chengdu.
The region is abundant in traditional Chinese medicinal herbs, with century-old medicinal trees growing across the mountains. According to legend, Qi Bo (the ancestor of Chinese medicine) and Sun Simiao (the Medicine King) once lived here for a long time to collect herbs and treat illnesses. Local residents have long worshipped the Medicine King Bodhisattva, hence the name "Medicine King Valley".
Signature local herbs such as magnolia flower, eucommia, magnolia bark and cornus are incorporated into the resort’s medicinal cuisine. It has become a top destination for wellness and relaxation.
- By Bus: Take the Mianyang-Pingwu bus and buy a ticket to Guixi (about ¥20).
- By Train:
- Destination: Linfeng Village, Guixi Township, Beichuan County.
- Fare: Hard seat ¥24; Hard sleeper (upper/middle/lower) ¥70/¥75/¥78.
- Schedule: 14:15 - 16:42 (about 3 hours).
- Route: Take Train T8908 from Chengdu Station to Jiangyou Station. A taxi from Jiangyou Station to Medicine King Valley takes only 33 minutes; buses are recommended.
