To commemorate Xu Xiake, the great geographer and traveler, the National Tourism Administration designated May 19 — the day Xu Xiake set off on his journeys — as China Tourism Day. Tiantai Mountain was the very first destination of Xu Xiake’s travels, and Diary of a Visit to Tiantai Mountain opens his magnum opus The Travel Diaries of Xu Xiake.
We have launched the travel route "Retrace Xu Xiake’s Footsteps, Explore Tiantai Mountain as He First Did". Following Xu Xiake’s trail, visitors can experience his fearless spirit of exploration amid hardships.
