Ancient City of Qi County

First built during the Taihe reign of Emperor Xiaowen of the Northern Wei Dynasty (477–499 AD), the ancient city has a history of more than 1,500 years. It stretches 850 metres from east to west and 700 metres from north to south, with a perimeter of three kilometres.

In January 1994, the State Council designated the Ancient City of Qi County as a National Historical and Cultural City. In 2013, its four main thoroughfares, known as the "Old Street of Shanxi Merchants", were named a Famous Historical and Cultural Street of China.
