Brief Introduction
Nestled in Cili County, Zhangjiajie City, Hunan Province—hailed as China’s Hometown of Hot Springs—Wanfu Hot Spring International Resort is a national AAAA-level scenic area integrating traditional Chinese blessing culture, hot spring wellness culture and hot spring entertainment culture. Adjacent to the eastern gateway of Zhangjiajie Core Scenic Area, a World Natural Heritage site, it stands merely 100 meters from the Cili East Interchange of the Changsha-Zhangjiajie Expressway, boasting extremely convenient transportation and picturesque surroundings.
Developed and constructed by Zhangjiajie Wanfu Hot Spring International Hotel Co., Ltd., the resort launched its trial operation on October 1, 2016. Nearly 300 million yuan was invested in the first phase to complete the upgrading and renovation of the main hotel, build the Wanfu Hot Spring Water Park and a folk custom street, and expand eight parking lots. A total investment of 1 billion yuan is planned over four years for follow-up projects, including guest room expansion, a golf driving range, sports and leisure facilities, an ecological farm, training and outward-bound bases, and entertainment zones. The resort’s land coverage will expand from the current 300 mu to 1,000 mu upon full completion.
Wanfu Hot Spring is a naturally self-flowing hot spring with crystal-clear water maintaining a constant temperature of 53°C all year round. Rich in metasilicic acid, radon and various natural minerals beneficial to human health, its spring water is both potable and effective for medical care. Tests by authoritative institutions confirm that Wanfu Hot Spring holds China’s largest reserve of radon hot spring resources.
The Phase I project of Wanfu Hot Spring Scenic Area features 185 five-star mountain-top hot spring hotel rooms, plus 10 sets of mid-mountain hot spring villas and courtyard residences. The banquet hall and self-service tea restaurant can accommodate 500 diners simultaneously. Three conference halls of varying sizes are available, with the largest one seating up to 400 guests.
Built along the mountain slope are the world’s longest constant-temperature mountain-top hot spring covered corridor and mountain-top aerial plank road, a distinctive mid-mountain hot spring glass bridge, a mid-mountain sightseeing elevator, and the world’s longest 300-meter infinity forest hot spring swimming pool halfway up the mountain. There are nine themed hot spring zones blending dynamic and tranquil experiences, as well as 99 hot spring pools with unique styles and different healthcare functions. The resort can receive up to 10,000 visitors daily, ranking among China’s top-tier hot spring resorts and standing as Hunan’s largest, most technologically advanced and highest-capacity hot spring tourism and leisure destination.
Abundant tourist attractions surround the resort: it is 18 kilometers away from Wulei Immortal Mountain, known as Southern Wudang of China; 40 kilometers from Zhangjiajie First Skyline Scenic Area (Chaoyang Ground Fissure); 46 kilometers from Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge; and 69 kilometers from Tianmen Mountain Scenic Area and Zhangjiajie Core Scenic Area.
The resort sits 70 kilometers from both Changde Taohuayuan Airport and Zhangjiajie Hehua Airport, and only 4 kilometers from Cili County Railway Station, ensuring easy travel for domestic and international guests. Cave Ice & Hot Spring Project
Workers discovered a natural cave over 200 meters long beneath the resort hotel mountain, with a constant internal temperature of 17°C all year round. A passage will be excavated to connect the scenic area to the cave, where natural hot spring water will be channeled into a large soaking pool capable of holding 300 to 500 guests at once. Refrigeration equipment will lower the cave temperature to minus 17°C to create an indoor ice wonderland. While scorching heat blazes outdoors, the cave presents a stark icy contrast. This innovative cave ice and hot spring complex will become a phenomenal new highlight for Zhangjiajie’s summer tourism.

Public Transport
Take the inter-county bus from Wulingyuan Bus Station to Cili East Bus Station (around 1.5 hours), then transfer to Bus No.2 to Wanfu Hot Spring.
Self-Driving
Depart from Wulingyuan District, travel along Provincial Highway S306 and the Changsha-Zhangjiajie Expressway directly to Wanfu Hot Spring.
