Scenic Area Overview

Yuanjiajie is situated in the northern part of Zhangjiajie Forest Park. Facing deep gorges and abysses in the front and backed by rocky peaks and mountain ranges, it is a mesa stretching from east to west, with an altitude of 1,074 meters and a total area of approximately 120 hectares. To the south of Yuanjiajie lies a long narrow gorge running east-west. Continuous undulating peaks covered in lush greenery line one side of the gorge.

Hundreds of stone peaks rise abruptly from the gorge floor at varying heights. Some stand in dense clusters while others tower alone. Sculpted and chiseled by nature as if carved by blades, they boast infinite shapes combining grandeur, wonder, grace and delicacy. Every peak wall and stone pillar is cloaked in vibrant green foliage, thriving luxuriantly. The entire great gorge resembles an ocean of green and a natural labyrinth, honored as "A Classic Masterpiece of Mountains and Rivers, the Source of Poems and Paintings". Major attractions include Back Garden, Soul-Charming Platform, Heart-Linking Bridge, Divine Tortoise Gazing at the Sky, Five Maidens Paying Homage to the General, and the No.1 Bridge Under Heaven.

A. Entry via Wujiayu Ticket Gate (Symbol Gate) of Wulingyuan: Take the scenic eco-shuttle to the lower station of Bailong Elevator and ride the elevator uphill. Elevator fare: 72 RMB per adult for a one-way trip.

B. Entry through the Forest Park Ticket Gate: Walk from the Great Oxygen Bar Square to the Thousand-Mile Reunion spot on Jinbian Stream, then hike uphill along the Cuanzuan Slope Trail. The uphill trail stretches 4.5 kilometers in total, taking roughly 2 hours on foot.

C. After ascending the mountain via Yangjiajie Ropeway or Tianzi Mountain Ropeway, transfer to a scenic eco-shuttle bound for Yuanjiajie.

Yuanjiajie features a semi-circular sightseeing route: enter the scenic area from the Soul-Charming Platform Parking Lot → walk 1,500 meters along the trail → arrive at the No.1 Bridge Under Heaven Parking Lot. A full tour of the scenic spot takes about 1.5 hours.

Admission to Huangshizhai Scenic Area is already covered by the Wulingyuan Scenic Area ticket (priced at 248 RMB, valid for four consecutive days).
