Major Cultural, Historical & Tourist Attractions in Yiyang
Yiyang’s notable cultural and historical sites include Pei Gong Pavilion, Qixia Temple and White Deer Temple. The ancient city boasts ten famed scenic spots: Surging Waves at Guanlai, Sails Fading over Zhixi River, Sunset Glow at Huilong Mountain, Clouds and Woods around Pei Pavilion, Evening Bells at White Deer Temple, Folk Ballads by Qingzhou River, Spring Scenery at West Bay, Ferry Crossing over Bijin River, Moonlight over Ganlei Mound, and Flood Waters Spreading across Ten Shoals.
Many sites are relics dating back to the Three Kingdoms period. Highlights include the Grinding Sword Pavilion, where Guan Yu sharpened his blade before riding forth alone to the enemy camp; Lu Su Dyke, built by Lu Su to defend against Guan Yu; and Riverside Pavilion, the venue for negotiations between Guan Yu and Lu Su.
