White Dragon Cave

Located in You County, White Dragon Cave is a karst cave formed roughly 300 million years ago. It gets its name from a karst formation resembling a white dragon steed.

The cave boasts endlessly varied landscapes, with caves nested within caves and upper chambers concealed above lower ones. It serves as a natural museum of karst landforms crafted by nature and is hailed as a marvelous cave of the East. Four unrivaled wonders unique to the country can be found here: the White Dragon Steed formation, ancient river channels, paleontological fossils, and melodic stone chimes.

White Dragon Cave is a magical and breathtaking karst cavern. Surveys have confirmed its total length exceeds 3,000 meters, while the developed sightseeing route under planning and construction stretches 877.6 meters. Inside lie spacious great halls, winding corridors and intricate labyrinths, alongside dazzling stalactite and stalagmite formations where every step unfolds distinct, layered scenery.

The discovery of White Dragon Cave filled the blank of karst caves in eastern Hunan. In July 2001, Professor Zhu Xuewen, Director of the Cave Research Institute under the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences, paid an inspection visit and spoke highly of the cave. He praised that White Dragon Cave "surpasses Huanglong Cave in scenery and outshines Reed Flute Cave in unique wonders".
